Therapy for You

Person-Centered & Context-Specific

Therapy is a healing space, not about fixing you, but understanding you, your history, your community, your stories, your survival tools, strengths, challenges, and relationships. Therapy is a space where you are the expert of your lived experience, and I am a partner-guide in this journey. Together we find ways to connect to healing, community, meaning-making, and your power.

I do not hide behind the wall of professionalism to distinguish myself as different from my clients. I am not punto y aparte (special or exceptional); soy punto seguido (I am a continuation of the human experience).

The Roots: My Story

I have both personal and professional experiences that enrich and inform my connection to people. These experiences include being a first-gen Chicana, living with multiple disabilities that are often not apparent, neurodivergent (ND) parenting as well as the often related ND anxiety, healing from historical and complex trauma, and parenting a child in the performing arts. Though these experiences are not the totality of my lived experience, these are experiences that fueled my commitment to walking with people through their journeys and being a witness to their stories. I believe we all deserve a witness, someone who can sit with you and hold space for your experiences. It often feels like an honor and a gift to be in that role. I treat my role as your therapist with the care, compassion, skills, and commitment with which I am being entrusted.

The Seeds

I don’t feel/think that therapy needs to be serious or heavy all the time. We can make room for the hard, tender, soft, and painful parts of life while also leaving space for laughter, pleasure, curiosity, and joy. I see healing as a process and people as whole, not broken or needing to be fixed. So much of who we are can get pushed to the edges when we’re struggling or navigating systems that ask us to disconnect from ourselves. Therapy can be a place to plant seeds and work with the roots, to come back to what matters to you — to your values, strengths, relationships, creativity, identities, culture, community, and the parts of yourself that have always known who you are. I hope that our journey together can make room for the grief and the joy, the uncertainty and the knowing, the parts that are hurting and the parts that are still growing.

Central to my practice is meaning-making. Meaning-making shifts the focus from individual pathology to collective, cultural, and systemic realities. Meaning-making honors ancestral wisdom, validates emotional responses, and places us in relationship to community, or a wider tapestry of the human experience. In addition to meaning-making, I am an eclectic therapist, which means that I pull from different therapy modalities to suit each of my clients’ individual needs. This means that if something isn’t working, we can try something different. At the core of our work together is trust, safety, collaboration, and compassion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take insurance?

I work with a limited number of insurance companies. You may submit an inquiry, on the contact form with the name of your insurance company, and I will promptly respond indicating whether I can accept your insurance. I am also happy to provide a superbill which you can use to submit for out-of-network reimbursement to your insurance provider.

Do you have a discounted rate, or sliding scale?

Sliding scale rates are $75 for individual sessions and $125 for family sessions. I aim to provide sliding scale rates for 30% of my scheduled sessions per week. This means that spaces are limited.

What ages do you work with?

I work with teens and adults ages 13 and up. Caregiver involvement including caregiver support is a required part of therapy for most teens.

For neurodovergent children under 13 years old requiring therapeutic services, I can provide referrals for local providers that can provide in-person therapy. For caregivers of neurodivergent children seeking caregiver coaching, I can provide coaching. Coaching is non-clinical, and is based in developing education and tools for working with the caregiver’s child and the systems they encounter.

Do you offer in-person or online services?

I provide online therapy for clients to increase accessibility and reduce barriers to care. I use a HIPPA compliant video platform and disable AI features to work in alignment with my ethical obligations and commitment to you.
